RADON TESTING

Radon can negatively affect your health.

Protect your health with a radon test.

What is Radon?

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas. It can seep into buildings through cracks in the foundation, walls, and floors; causing unsafe exposure levels that can damage your health.

You cannot see or smell radon; it is colorless and odorless.

A radon test is the only way to know what level of radon you are being exposed to.

How RAM Tests Radon Levels

To test the levels of radon gas in the air, RAM places specialized equipment in a home or building that monitors the air over a 48 hour period.

This test produces a detailed report, including an hourly breakdown of radon levels present in the air. This report will help determine whether levels are safe, and whether any mitigation measures are required to reduce radon exposure.

Why is Radon Testing Necessary?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Surgeon General, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) all strongly advise that ALL homebuyers should have an indoor radon test performed before buying or taking occupancy.

Radon testing is also suggested every two years, or whenever there are changes to a building, such as renovations or additions.

Every county in North Carolina has areas with high and moderate radon concentrations. All homes should be tested regardless of geographic location or foundation type.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, indoor radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, behind smoking. Protect your health with a radon test.
